Metito has installed an environmentally
friendly waste water treatment works for the new
Manar Mall shopping complex in Ras Al Khaimah.
The multi-million dirham project will treat all
sewage and other waste water on site and then use
the treated water to irrigate and landscape the
extensive grounds of the latest mall in the UAE.
Located on the RAs Al Khaimah waterfront there will
be extensive landscaping for the 45,000 square meter
mall and in the 2,200 space car park.
"We are proud to have been asked to provide
the waste water treatment solutions for this exciting
new development - among the first major shopping
malls to be built to international standards in
the northern emirates" said Metito Group Managing
Director Mutaz Ghandour.
"The system we have installed will treat all
sewage and waste water on site and this will then
be used for irrigation and landscaping on the site
to ensure the most effective use of water resources
for Manar Mall".
The scope of work for Metito on this project was
turnkey design, engineering, fabrication, supply,
installation commissioning, full operation and maintenance
of the works.
Key features of the packaged sewage treatment plant
include a capacity to treat up to 300 cubic meters
of waste per day.
This is divided into three independent streams and
is flexible to cater for peak times and has fully
automated systems in an environmentally friendly
atmosphere.
"We are delighted with the highly effective
and efficient system that has been installed by
Metito for our new mall" said Manar Mall general
manager Neil Storey.
The Manar Mall features 110 shops including a supermarket,
a seven-screen cinema, four restaurants, 10 food
court outlets, an indoor amphitheater and exhibition
/ promotion area, an outdoor dining area and water
sports facilities on the waterfront.
