METITO, (Overseas) Limited, has installed two mobile
containerised water treatment plants on behalf of
SEWA (Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority) to
ensure a constant supply of water for industrial
and drinking purposes at Hamriyah City.
The company, which has its headquarters for Africa,
Asia and Europe in Sharjah, has installed two containerised
units that are capable of providing a total of 1000
cubic metres of water every day.
These units bring to seven the total number of Metito
plants now operating at Hamriyah City which use
reverse osmosis technology for desalinating brackish
well water and delivering a guaranteed supply of
fresh water.
Metito (Overseas) Limited Managing Director Mr Fady
Juez explained: “As a Sharjah based company,
we are delighted to have the opportunity to use
our expertise and technology to help SEWA.
“Metito has developed a containerised reverse
osmosis water purification system that is specially
designed for use at remote locations and worksites
such as Hamriyah City where mobility and ease of
installation are critical.”

The
containerised units are highly automated, and operating
the systems requires minimal special skills that
make them ideal for remote areas where there are
few technical personnel.
The units contain pre and post-treatment systems
inside the container, and, for desalination, can
handle brackish well waters to ensure a supply of
potable water to the Hamriyah City site.
Mr Juez added: “Metito’s long experience
in water treatment in the Middle East means that
our containerised systems are designed to operate
successfully in the harshest of environments and
are fully tested before we install them on site.”
The seven units now in place provide 3500 cubic
metres of water per day for SEWA to serve the demands
of users at Hamriyah City.
Metito is the leading international company for
the provision of wastewater treatment, desalination
plants and water supply projects in the UAE. It
operates its African, Asian and European operations
from their regional headquarters in Sharjah, and
has a factory and laboratory facility in the Hamriya
Free Zone.
Metito is an international company that was founded
in 1958 by Mr. Farouk Ghandour, its present Chairman,
and has project management capabilities to undertake
similar and much larger projects worldwide.
