Abu Dhabi Municipality has awarded an AED 23 million contract to Metito, the international water and wastewater treatment specialists, for the construction of three new sewage treatment works in the towns of Baaya, Sila and Ghuwaifat in the western region of Abu Dhabi.

This project is one of a number being undertaken by Metito for Abu Dhabi Municipality as part of a major overall program to create new sewage treatment systems for nine villages in the western region of Abu Dhabi.

The works now under construction will be able to cope with the demands of the 10,000 residents of the towns of Baaya and Sila plus the 1,000 people who live in Ghuwaifat.

The 720-day contract awarded to Metito includes the design, supply, construction, commissioning, handing over, operation and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical works for the two sewage treatment works.
